Supporting Staff after the Death of a Child

This new framework has been developed with the aim of providing support to bereaved parents who are health care staff after the death of a baby or child at any gestation or age. The framework is to support bereaved parents themselves, line managers, supervisors, and colleagues. It provides guidance for supporting staff in the immediate aftermath of the child/ren’s death and a framework for supporting a return to work.  While it has been developed with the OUH and therefore some aspects are Trust-specific, there is much more which is widely relevant for all health care staff.
